So this is my fourth semester in college but my second semester taking architecture classes (design, history, etc.) and I have to say I am loving it. I am designing a house for my design class, which of course I will show you later. And I've been reading the most amazing books ever in my architecture&society class (which I am also going to talk about later). They are about lighting, color, textures, forces, and just everything that revolves around the architectural process. Ah, how I am gonna miss that class. I actually look forward to reading the books my professor assigns! How cool is that? So I am just too happy doing what I do!
Anyway, here are some really beautiful and popular building we've been looking at lately. I just need to share them! These are some of my favorites,
St. Ignatius Chapel - University of Seattle, Washington - Steven Holl 1998
Jewish Museum - Berlin, Germany - Daniel Libeskind 1999
Farnsworth House - Plano, IL - Mies van der Rohe 1945
Sydney Opera House - Jorn Utzon 1957-1973
Guggenheim Museum - Bilbao, Spain - Frank Gehry 1997
I hope you liked them! Google some more pictures so you can all see the inside of each of one of these extraordinary buildings!
